Meet Mrs. Posh Tudor
Hello,
My name is Kathryn, and I reside in Seattle with my husband and a chubby Yorkie with quite the attitude! We've entered the empty-nest phase as our adult son has recently embarked on his own journey.
My love for fashion and design started in my early years with rearranging furniture and being fully accessorized by age 7! I had a passion for beautiful things, spaces, and creating my “world.”
For me personally, both fashion and design have meant a sense of calm, beauty, creativity, and excitement. I love the smell of fresh paint and wallpaper paste, sorting through sample fabrics, creating a color story, and the hunt for the perfect furniture, artwork, rugs, décor items, etc.
This early love led me to Nordstrom at the ripe old age of 16 to accept a position as a “Fitting Room Checker” (the position itself ages me but think legal pad and counting out items brought in/out) and I was in heaven!
I worked for Nordstrom for 25 years, with a 3-year hiatus to NYC to be VP of Merchandising & Design for European fashion brand Mondi, based out of Munich. While at Nordstrom I moved up the ranks to ultimately become a Women’s Apparel Brand Manager for the product development side of the company and oversaw everything from design concept to end production.
What does all of this have to do with interior design? I believe, a lot!
Working in fashion helped me develop an encyclopedic knowledge of fabric, pattern, style, color concept, and how to weave all of it into a beautiful cohesive story. Over the years friends and acquaintances have asked for my
help on everything from selecting all interiors to help with organizing or revamping a space.
I create with a bold unmistakable point of view. I love color (and black & white!), pattern, unexpected lighting choices and I can’t forget about wallpaper!
While my personal style might not be everyone’s cup of tea, that’s the fun part for me. I love and appreciate many styles and eras of homes, but my true passion has always been historical with a lot of character and always run down!
My goal is to create undeniably beautiful spaces that make sense and create an emotional connection.
When do we start?
